The "Out With The Bad" Nova Thinking we where receiving a car to just re-weld the cage joints, (they had been ground smooth for show) no one suspected the death trap that showed up on the trailer. Having been duped on the initial purchase was enough for Tom. This time around he was getting exactly what he wanted. Upon closer review it was determined that only the wheels, and body where salvageable. Take for instance the horrible fit, unacceptable welds, and all around poor workmanship.

After the bogus pile of monkey bars were put where they belong we went ahead and freshened up the dash. |

Then arrived the new frame rails, rear end, coil overs, and ladder bars. |
||
The chassis was leveled and supported. Then we took the old back half out to make way for the new. Once all the garbage was out we couldn't wait to see what the new stance would look like. |

Striping and cleaning continues until we get to a decent point to start building the car again. |

Getting the cross member pitched, yawed, leveled, and squared takes a lot of chalk lines and plumb bobs. |

After the front and rear cross members are in, the frame rails just trim right in. | ||
Next is setting the ride height, pinion angle, ladder bar brackets, and coil over brackets. |

Once we were done with all the suspension work. It was time to fill all this space in the rear with roll cage. We were given free reign with the only stipulation being, it's got to be sick. |
||
| As if sitting slammed on 14.5 wide tires and a rumbling v8 weren't enough to intimidate, Tom wanted a funny car style cockpit. What ever Tom wants, Tom gets. | ![]() |

After all the cage work was done the axle was trimmed to length, and finish welded. |
||
Then came mounting the fuel cell, and starting on the new floors. Wheel tubs to window nets, the interior is coming together pretty nicely. |

Not wanting to cover up that sexy FAB 9 and coil over setup, we bead rolled this nifty little panel that shows you what's right underneath. |

The last step in this build was to whip up the new ladder bars, and get some pictures of it sitting outside. Why not a couple with Megan posing next to it as well. Don't worry we'll be doing a full photo shoot when its done at the body shop! |
